When I actually began to use it more and bring it places, it lasted about 3 months. I got this console as a gift two years ago. (Considering I didn't use the PictoChat or change my settings or at least see what I could do with it until recently; I was more into just playing the games. It doesn't have a browser, but because my standards aren't really that high, well, I don't mind. The reason I gave the DS Lite 4 starts is because it is made of materials that are a bit cheap. I plan to buy another one, because my satisfaction is still high as far as the other parts of the DS go. :P) When I found the PictoChat, I was pleased.
The thing was, both of my sister's DSes had snapped in half, so it wasn't just MY mistakes or MY carelessness. I was waiting to write a review because I wasn't sure I'd explored all the features enough to actually right a worthwhile review. I was disappointed when the DS eventually snapped in half. Then my DS went places with me during the summer, so my sisters and I could PictoChat on the long drives etc. The DS certainly fit my standards of a "good portable console". Overall, I liked the DS Lite.

Very satisfied with this product. The screen is a decent size. Very fun to use.
Wonderful for travel. The brain games are fun, easy and entertaining. Simple to understand.
Great product, battery life is excellent, at least 6 hours of non-stop play. Black part is very good for gripping, cobalt gets a little smudged but I didn't buy this to go to a beauty pageant with. Overall great product, highly recommend.
Nintendo's always find and durable too. Also if you buy/own one of these I'm just going to suggest you looking up "R5". I'm saying no more. :)
